What You Don’t Know About Jason Drake

Jason is beset with the ability to apply both left and right brain thinking in his work. He earned a degree in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University, a school dubbed, "the Mother of Astronauts." This propensity influences his efforts as an artist, and explains why he is a man of details. But don't ask him about the design of an airplane wing becuase he left that world behind when he committed to become a full time painter. If you want to hear him tell tall tales, just ask about his years as a helicopter pilot and what he saw when flying along the DMZ in Korea.

These days Jason would rather talk about the artists that influenced him and how he juggles the difference in oil, watercolor and egg tempera painting.

You can watch Jason at work through videos that are posted on his YouTube channel. He will discuss techniques, tools, tastes, and the subjects of his paintings as he develops his latest painting.
